Step Toward A Godly Walk uses
the Interntational Sunday School Lessons in the hopes more Christians will
take Jesus with them throughout the day. And The New Living Translation
of The Bible because that is the one easiest for me to understand
and apply to my life. Maybe if more of us are reading
the same scriptures we can use our discussions to expose others
to the Living Word of God and the Savior he provided for us all
in a positive way.

Prepare
your mind to being shaped by God....
Close
your eyes and use your breathing to set the
rhythm of your prayer.
As you breath in.......relax.....
imagine drawing into yourself
the goodness of
Jesus.
Love, Forgiveness, Peace,
Holiness
As you breath out....relax further.........imagine
letting go and giving out:
hate, resentment, revenge, unkindness.
By his divine power, God has given us everything
we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming
to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous
glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

BIBLE READINGS |
Monday Nov. 16: Luke 19:12-26
Luke 19:26 “‘Yes,’ the king replied, ‘and to those who use well
what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing,
even what little they have will be taken away.
Are you investing the faith God has given you? It is usually
easy for me to share my faith with those who believe. And most
times I am ok with sharing with unbelievers....but then there are those
times ...when I am like the third servant and tuck it away. So how
are you doing with your ten pounds of silver?
|
Tuesday Nov. 17: Psalm 101:1-4
Psalm 101:2 I will be careful to
live a blameless life—when will you come to help me? I will lead
a life of integrity in my own home.
Much is said in the media today about the posting of The Ten Commandments
in public buildings. We are outraged when they are removed. Do
you have them posted in your home?
Renewing our covenant Ten Commandments for the Covenant
Community

Wednesday Nov. 18: Proverbs 14:2-5
Proverbs 14:5 An honest witness
does not lie; a false witness breathes lies.
Like it or not this is not a choice you get to make. As a child
of the most High God, who has chosen Jesus as his personal savior, you
are a witness! The question is what type of witness are you? Honest
or false ?

Thursday Nov. 19: Daniel 6:6-10
Daniel 6:10 But when Daniel learned
that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his
upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times
a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.
Faithful to respond God’s way to suffering...now there is one that
trips up most of us today! Notice Daniel did not get on his cell
phone or the internet and share his outrage to anyone and everyone that
would listen. He kept his mouth shut...no arguing with the powers
that be....went home...knelt down AS USUAL to pray.
Today we live in perilous times ... right where God wants us to be!
And how are we responding?
Ouch! I REALLY dislike when I step on my own toes.

Friday Nov. 20: Matthew 24:42-47
Matthew 24: 45 A faithful, sensible
servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing
his other household servants and feeding them.
So how do you do...when God turns the responsibility over to you?
|
Saturday Nov. 21: Acts 8:26-39
Acts 8:30 Philip ran over and heard
the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand
what you are reading?”
Are you ever ready to share the grace and knowledge of our LORD and Savior
, Jesus Christ? God is sending you into society today. Will you
run toward the questions or away from them? Will you be invited up
into the carriage or will those with questions turn away afraid?
|
Sunday Nov. 22: 2 Peter 1:3-15
2 Peter 1:5 In view of all this,
make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with
a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge.
CAUTION: Knowledge obtained from false teachers is not useful.
