Epiphany

Step Toward A Godly Walk uses the International Sunday School Lessons in the hopes more Christians will take Jesus with them throughout the day. And The New Living Translation of The Bible because that is the one easiest for me to understand and apply to my life. Maybe if more of us are reading the same scriptures we can use our discussions to expose others to the Living Word of God and the Savior he provided for us all in a positive way.

Prepare your mind to being shaped by God....

Close your eyes and use your breathing to set the rhythm of your prayer.

As you breath in.......relax.....
imagine drawing into yourself
the goodness of
Jesus.
Love, Forgiveness, Peace, Holiness
As you breath out....relax further.........imagine letting go and giving out:
hate, resentment, revenge, unkindness.

Tuesday Jan. 5: Luke 8:5-8, 11-15

Luke 8:14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.

Careful of the riches and pleasures of this life don’t let them choke out your relationship with the one true God.

Wednesday Jan. 6: Galatians 6:1-5

Galatians 6:1 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

Navigating our society humbly reaching for other believers blinded by sin and not falling in yourself...that is a plateful!

Thursday Jan. 7: Matthew 26:36-46

Matthew 26:41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.

Just like Jesus we ask God to take this cup from us...and he does not...just like Jesus we must keep watch and pray...so that we will not give in to temptation.

Friday Jan. 8: Matthew 6:9-15

Matthew 6:13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

Temptation is all around...we can not cut ourselves off from the world around us...we must as Jesus did .... meet people where they are...we best do as Jesus did and spend much time in prayer.
